Can't Update-windows Update
Windows update spends the better part of 2 hours searching for updates and another hour or so of 0% downloading and I have over 200 Updates pending. Next, try and run Windows Update. I opened a cmd window (as administrator) in the new protected folder (C:\42c85776e1df4d1b8b5495) and did a directory to find the *.xml file, which is the command file for the Package Manager Head over to this Microsoft webpage and click "Download and run the Windows Update Troubleshooter." Windows 10 Updates Won't Download
Check out our instructions on installing the Conveniene Rollup here. Ridiculous. As for issue 2, that one just requires you to manually install some specific updates which also isn't mentioned here. Existing installs may be encountering very different problems.

After following these instructions it definitely got me closer but no cigar so far. After following both procedures (on a virtualbox I reset back to the same snapshot) I still had the hung update search.
