I just want to be able to view the files on the CD, but it won't let me. If you know what you want on your CD already and you don't plan to add anything to it, try using the other option such that the CD doesn't act like I know that's not the error you're reporting, but even so, it's small a possibility here. The funny thing is that all the other computers in our office> running Windows XP can see it.

After running it, I was able to read my CDs & DVDs. Can anyone relate that they have done same..using a diff windows than what came with pc and having this issue? Cd-r Not Reading
Have one computer right now that will read a particular CD ROM from one drive but not the other. Neither will recognize a blank cd or DVD in the DVD-RW drives. Sounds like just some better care needed to be taken in storing the CD. And we saved our client files on CD's and sometimes they would come in in a panic because their files had disappeared when they tried to open them at home. You got somthing to say to me, PM it.
