That kind of stutter can happen if the frame rate and refresh rate of the monitor don't match. What is the brand/model of your TV and which type of connection cable you are using? What could be my problem here? Let the support agent know that you did factory reset and it only makes the problem "temporarily" disappear. Go into view\options\player\formats and check the autoplay\dvd box. The time now is 01:37 AM.

Dvd Playback Choppy Though VLC will handle many of these vids just fine; but w/ a good (not WAY expensive) GPU & an HD monitor, I often get better quality out of MPlayer2/ SMPlayer, The thing being that VLC has a sort of internal codec structure that does not connect to other players. This completely throttles data transfer from the DVD drive and causes dropped frames.

When I came back on without any internet connection, the dvd problem was solved. My Pc has a pair of 512 ram. What's the monitor's fresh rate? I've seen info that the last version of vlc that played dvd files properly was 1.0.5, and I found that was true. I can play 1080p mkvs just fine (as long as they're properly encoded) ... It works better with dvd menus, which still aren't well supported by many players even after all this time.

My main reason for using these media players is because I can use the arrow keys to jump forward or backwards ... 5 seconds ... In VLC, I think it is the fault of deinterlacing.
