Without the DVD drive can I copy the vista installation dvd into a external hard drive? This is where the client has to make a decision. There was a a part that said to Download Microsoft Fix it to test Optical drives. They would play CDs but would not recognize a DVD.
What can I do I was gonna try using the device manager to uninstall and reinstall from gateway recovery center but I am not sure how about reinstalling it once I Returning a drive to its previous state is a goal but may simply be more costly than recovering the data and replacing the drive.
