Just got it bout a month ago and it was after I had restarted it that my god damn D:drive had dissapeared! It trashed and corrupted my QSI DVD/CDRW SBW-161 driver per device manager. A USB DVD drive that is seen fine in Windows 7 but Windows 8 lists it like a USB memory key. But, if you're not sure how to do that, ask someone who does, or simply ask a service for help. Can't Boot From Cd I deleted that.

The drive is listed after boot, and I've tried multiple connectors on it now. When it didn't work, I took the secondary drive out of the system and put the primary drive back to "cable select," where it had been originally. This is insane. I had to pull out the memory and the plug that runs from the power supply to get enough room to allow the secondary drive to slide out at all.

I've even changed the cables to no joy. The CD drive is recognized in bios, but not the DVD. How do I enable that? None of the suggested fixes seem to work…Regedit of Lower Filers, Upper Filters, changes to BIOS, uninstalling and re-installing software, firmware, vodoo spells and general praying etc.

This being the case it is impossible to burn music cd's, let alone simply play music thru this Drive.
