With a slower drive speed, I don't think this failure would have been so likely...

I was not aware of this. In fact, many reproduction houses wouldn't accept CDR masters that weren't cut a slower speed. If the hard disk built into your system stops working, you can’t load your operating system, you can’t surf the Web, you can’t play a game...well, you get the idea. Try changing that one!

No, create an account now. The issue is shutdown after when I insert the CD or DVD in Drive. USB read/write dvd/cd drive. Now I am unable to burn any slower than 16x and that is causing havoc with our duplicators.
I have noticed this when burning cd's for my car's stock player. 4x is ideal if you want reliability. The modern CD-ROM/DVD-ROM/CD-RW drives all do at least 52x or better, and it takes forever for a CD to spin-up and then spin-down again, when you want to eject it. But then again, now that this problem has been chewed over a little here, maybe I should give Nero another try.
