it all looked good then i put the windows 7 dvd in and guess what...it froze.. Computer Freezes When Dvd Is Inserted but iv taken mine out because its been freezing my laptop lately. and i dont know what good going into safemode is going to do as its a hardware problem, i can only imagine it'll just freeze again.. Also while you have the cable off you could try cleaning the contacts with a pencil eraser. Use it to determine your hardware specs and post them here. what is the cd rom drive in the boot up mode? You could try a lens cleaning kit. Have your micrometer handy.
