If THAT doesn't work, then check your antivirus software and see if its blocking certain files from running. Now you will need to restart your computer and you should find that is how to open exe file if you have been having some problems doing so. This seems to have just started recently because I don't remember having a problem with it before a week ago. Any one got a windows 10 solution? I have seen similar behaviour many times before, and this has fixed the problem a few times. Restarting also does nothing.
